Description
I found this vintage barn advertising Mail Pouch Tobacco in Ross County near Chillicothe, Ohio. It is one of the few that I have seen that have been so well maintained. These barns were very common in the 1950's.

I used to see these all over rural Ohio!
Charles Robinson replied:
Thank you for viewing my barn, Roberta. You say that you "used to see these all over rural Ohio." It has been several years since I have been to Ohio. Are the barns disappearing? I know of one near Portsmouth that is crumbling.

What a wonderful barn. This reminds me of living in the North East when I was young and brings back such fun memories. Beautiful L/F

Hello Charles.. What a find! & Well restored! How I loved traveling the countryside.. In the old yellow Ford station wagon in the 50’s..I my parent's taking us to Florida.. The rehearsal for the trip West! A simpler time, eh? & all the barns were red.. My folks were children of Western European Immigrants.. But they were savvy & loved road adventures.. No air conditioning.. The trailer hitch broke in Kansas.. The road so hot, the hitch dug into the tar a close of inches.. Imagine,, with 4 kids under 7..& one on 'the way'.. Good Ol' Days, yep! Thank you, Kaye and Jeff. Based upon my recent "discoveries" it is surprising how many of these old barns are still around.
