Large Size Silver Certificates were printed from 1878 to 1923 in the United States as part of its circulation of paper currency. The Large Size Silver Certificates were initially redeemable in the same face value of silver dollar coins, and later in raw silver bullion. Because of their significance in US history and rarity Large Size Silver Certificates have become increasingly collectable and valuable. The 1896 certificates were known as "The Educational Series" Notes and were said to have been the most beautiful bank notes ever minted.
