Description
I think that Byer Covered Bridge is my favorite of the bridges in the Hocking Hills region of southern Ohio . It is certainly one of the most visited. It is a modified Smith through truss bridge built it 1872 and restored in 2003. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 21,1975. It has a span of 74 feet spanning Pigeon Creek in the village of Byer in Jackson County, Ohio. It is one of two covered bridges currently in use at the original location in Jackson County. The other is the Johnson Road Bridge over the Little Scioto River southwest of Jackson.
