Description
The Signal House, now a Bed and Breakfast, located on Front Street in Ripley, Ohio, was built about 1830. It is said that a lantern in the attic signaled Rev. Rankin, the abolitionist and underground railroad "conductor" that the waterfront was safe to transport slaves to freedom.
