Description
Spotted knapweed, Centaurea stoebe,, is a thistle-like weed found in the drier areas of Western United States commonly along stream banks, I think that it is a very pretty plant, which is of course like so many other invasive plants is the reason that it was introduced into the region. It is reconized as being an invasive species in the United States, since it spreads profusely once it becomes established, Interestingly it is very nutritious to sheep and relished by them, so that grazing sheep in the infested areas is a good biological control measure.
