Description
The Ice Age Flood, or the Great Missoula Lake Flood has always been fascinating to me. These Basalt Columns at Frenchman Springs Coulee along the Columbia River are especially awesome. They are formed by the rapid cooling of the lava that was laid down prior to the Flood. To put the size of the columns into perspective you can see a rock climber near the top.
