Thank you, Sandi and Gary. I had not noticed the illusion that it is floating, but you are right. Sadly, this "emergency closure" was the last, but you might wonder if the owners, who painted the sign, had hoped to open the ferry again.

Great capture, I agree that the wonderful deep blues in the foreground do make it appear to float. I love humorous shots like this. It may have been an emergency, but they took the time to engrave and paint the wooden sign, suggesting there may be frequent emergency closures? Hopefully it will be back afloat soon. VF
