Description
The Irish Bend Covered Bridge is a 60-ft Howe Trusss bridge, originally constructed acoss the Willamette River Slough at Monroe, Oregon in 1954. When the road crossing the slough was relocated the bridge was abandoned and fell into disrepair. It was prurchased in 1989 and was relocated to Campus Way on the Oregon State University campus at Corvallis, Oregon. The western end of Campus Way was later closed to automobile traffic and is accessible only on the bike path from the fair grounds, through the OSU research farms, to the main campus.
