Description
The Heart of the Monster is according to the Nez Perce Native Americans the birthplace of the Nez Perce Nation. It is located just east of Lewiston, Idaho. The Native American legend tells how Coyote created human beings when the animals were being devoured by a huge monster. As a result the human beings were thrown into the air and scattered as the monster erupted as a volcano and became all of the Native American tribes in the region. The Nez Perce Nation was birthed from the blood sprinkled on the ground. I invite you to do a search for "The heart of the monster" on the internet to read the legend.
