Description
Cox Covered Bridge was built in 1884 using a variation of the Vinton County Queenspost Truss System spanning Brushy Fork Creek north of the Village of Creola in Vinton County, Ohio. In 1992, the 40-foot bridge was moved 20 feet north to its present location by placing metal runners on the bottom and sliding it along greased planks laid along the banks of the creek. It is no longer in use, but is proudly maintained by the Creola townspeople.
