Artist's Description

The Carlisle Building at the corner of Paint Street and Main Street in downtown Chillicothe, Ohio has been a landmark since it was constructed in 1885. It is one of the iconic brick buildings that make downtown Chillicothe unique. In the 1960's there was a drug store in the corner shop complete with an old time soda fountain, making it a popular hang out for the students. In 2003 the building ws badly damaged by an arson fire. Efforts are now underway in 2013 to restore the building to its former grandeur.
