I was going through my photographs of the Grand Canyon looking for a view of the Canyon from a different perspective than the typical views. I found this beautiful image of a massive rock formation at the Cape Royal area on the North Rim. I believe that the flat area on the top is the Kaibab Plateau, the rock formation at the surface of the canyon. The massive bright orange rock appears to be volcanic in origin. I was really attracted to the white pine trees framing the rock.
